Being A Lawyer And A Novelist
In this episode, I welcome Jessica Martin, a lawyer and published novelist – check out For the Love of the Bard – to the show. We talk about balancing life as a lawyer, a writer, and having a family. Jessica recalls how she got into the world of law, and how she slowly transitioned from Biglaw to working as an in-house lawyer. She also describes the process she underwent to be a published author and shares her advice with those who want to give writing a try.
Being A Lawyer And A Novelist
The Jabot podcast is an offshoot of the Above the Law brand focused on the challenges women, people of color, LGBTQIA, and other diverse populations face in the legal industry. Our name comes from none other than the Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the jabot (decorative collar) she wore when delivering dissents from the bench. It’s a reminder that even when we aren’t winning, we’re still a powerful force to be reckoned with.
Happy listening!
